Click on the Codebook tab to go to the codebook page for the first variable in your tagset (this will always be PUBID). Use the blue arrows at the top to move up and down through your list of selected variables.
You can also jump directly to the codebook page for any variable from the Variable Search or Review Selected Variables tabs. Simply click on the RNUM or Question Name of the variable of interest in your list and you will move to the Codebook tab, which will display the information for that variable. (Note: If the variable is saved in your tagset, you can then use the blue arrows to page through your saved variables.)
NOTE: The recommended method of navigating within the Investigator is to use the tabs or the links at the bottom of the codebook page rather than your browser's "back" button.
The screen below shows the Codebook tab information for NLSY97 variable S75142.00. Click on any of the “Lead In,” “Default Next,” or “Go To” questions to study the flow of the instrument. This option is not available in the static Codebook Preview. Click on the documentation links to access more information about the variable topic.
