SPPC Data for YA2020

Data from the Self-Perception Profile for Children (SPPC) questions in R29 were inadvertently left off of the NLSY79 Child and Young Adult 1986-2020 data release. 

Users can download these variables in ya2020_sppc_raw_items.zip.

Case Data Deletion [posted August 18, 2021]

After the release of the 2018 data, the case data for respondent id 850302 were determined to be invalid for survey years 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016. The survey data for this respondent for those survey years has been removed from the data. Users who are working with previously extracted datasets should avoid using the data for this respondent for survey years 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2016.

A Note about Sampling Weights

The NLSY79 Child and Young Adult 1994-2016 data set includes revisions to several Young Adult sampling weights as well as the replacement of two revised Child sampling weights.

The variable C00115.13 [CEXCLUDED2000], which alerts users to minority oversample cases that were not fielded in 2000, has been updated to include both CHILD and YOUNG ADULT cases who were not fielded in that round.
