The My Account button allows the user to perform several functions, depending on whether an account has already been set up or not.
When the user clicks on My Account the login page shown below will appear. (Note: below the Investigator's buttons is a "welcome" statement, that identifies who is logged in. When the Investigator is initially opened it defaults to "guest".) If an account has been set up, the user must simply enter the email address used when the account was set up, then click on Login.

After the user logs in the following screen will appear from which the user may click on "Modify my personal information" or begin using other NLS Investigator functions by clicking on one of the buttons or links across the top of the page. Normally, after logging in the user will want to search for varibles, by clicking on Web Investigator, or run a custom weight, by clicking on Custom Weights.

7.2 Modify Account Information
From the above page the user may wish to modify account information by clicking on the "Modify my personal information" link. If the user chooses this option, a page similar to the following will appear. To save the changes, click on the Save Changes button.
The only information required to maintain a membership account is a valid e-mail address. All information is confidential and will not be sold or shared.

When the user clicks on My Account the login form page shown below will appear. (Note: below the Investigator's buttons is a "welcome" statement, that identifies who is logged in. When the Investigator is initially opened it defaults to guest.) If no account has been set up, the user should click on "account request form" to begin the account creation process.

After clicking on "account request form" the "Membership - Subscription" page shown below will appear from which the user can set up a membership account. The only information required for an account is a valid e-mail address. The address is used to deliver extracted tagsets to the user. All information gathered is confidential and will not be shared or sold.
The "Membership - Subscription" page is identical to the "Membership - Modification" page where the user may also elect to be added to a mailing list for update notification, or edit other user account information. The user cab fill out the form to the extent the user chooses and click on Process Request (or Save Changes when updating).

The processing of a request for an account is a two-step process: 'verification' of the e-mail address as valid and 'activation' of the account. The e-mail address is verified for proper form and domain name, and an e-mail is sent to the address the user supplied to make contact with the requestor. In this e-mail directions are given on how to activate the account.

When the e-mailed directions are followed a page similar to the following will appear from which the user may activate the account membership.

Once activated, the user's account is available at any time by logging in (Login link) using the e-mail address as account identification. When logged in the "Welcome" statement under the Investigator buttons will include the user's e-mail address. This page is the departure page after every successful login. Choose one of the Investigator buttons or links below them to navigate through the Investigator software.
