Also: http://www.jstor.org/stable/351381 Cohort(s): Mature Women Publisher: National Council on Family Relations Keyword(s): Food Stamps (see Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program); Marital Stability; Welfare Five waves of data from the NLS of Mature Women consisting of 3,690 30-44 year old females were analyzed using a cross-lagged panel correlation. In many cases, the results of the analysis are consistent with the view that marital instability increases the need for welfare, Aid to Families with Dependent Children, and food stamps. There was little evidence to support the previously reported effect of public assistance on marital instability. [(c)APA] |
