Rehabilitation is charged with the restoration of people who have or suffer handicapping conditions which sufficiently impair their ability to perform in the labor force market or to lead an independent life. Traditional research efforts have been focused upon the overall effect of rehabilitation efforts. This study investigates the impact of one's socioeconomic status as well as the person's locus of control and severity of their limitations have on their level of participation in the labor force. Correlational and chi-square (contingency) analyses are used to describe and test the strength of any relationships.
